Open Advantage™ was developed using the patented Arius' ConnectedDB™ N- tier framework. ConnectedDB™ allows application designs to be modeled using Unified Modeling Language™ (UML™) drawings. These models are dynamically prototyped prior to being automatically translated into software that can run on a variety of target deployment environments. This graphical model driven approach with automatic translation into software eliminates much of the effort currently required for enterprise-class application development while increasing deployment flexibility.

Many account management systems are designed to work in any firm. Consequently, they are often cluttered with fields and options irrelevant to your firm. Over time these unused features create confusion resulting in increased error rates. Open Advantage ™ was designed to be easily configured to gather the information you need, generate the documentation you use and follow your workflow. Configuration offers considerable savings versus in-house development

Configuration is easy to do through the user interface allowing for: user defined fields, business rules, templated or dynamically generated documents, and complex sequential or even parallel workflows to be entered quickly and easily. All this information is stored in the database on a per correspondent basis. The configuration can even be exported for version control. Clearing firms can create a master template shared across multiple correspondents while allowing individual correspondents to have unique configurations all on a single instance.

The architecture supports integration with LDAP, and Active Directory to ensure no time is wasted remembering multiple passwords.

Open Advantage ™ was designed to be horizontally scalable in each of the three tiers. Extra web servers, application servers or replicated database servers can be added to improve redundancy, as well as support a larger number of users.

Secure

Open Advantage has a robust security model. Each user is assigned one or more roles in the system. Based on these roles rights and permissions are assigned. This is backed by a sophisticated data model which ensures that each user is only able to access information relevant to their particular function. For example the same report when viewed by an advisor, branch manager or compliance officer will show in each case only the accounts relevant to that particular user.

The security model has also been tailored for clearing firms allowing for account range and advisor codes to be assigned to particular correspondents.

Finally, encryption is also used to ensure that information is secured over communications links.
