Arius Software Corporation
Achieves $1.5 Million Investment Funding
WATERLOO, ONTARIO, January 22, 2001-Arius Software
Corporation, a privately-owned web application consulting business, today
announced that it has received $1.5 million dollars in its initial round
of funding. Arius Software will use the funds to grow their professional
services organization specializing in web application development for
the enterprise and to build partnerships with key service organizations.
Arius Software can leverage technology developed in-house to speed and
automate e-commerce development as part of their consulting offerings
This is the next logical step for our business
and we are pleased with the endorsement weve received through this
early financial support from our investors, stated Adam Zimmer,
CEO and President . We selected seasoned experts in the technology
and investment community as our investors and advisors to ensure that
we have the right strategy to grow our business.
Arius Software has developed solutions for a variety
of clients in the financial services industry, security industry and educational
market throughout North America, from Silicon Valley to local companies
in Waterloo. Their implementation expertise includes web banking, e-procurement,
and end-to-end web presence solutions.
"Arius Software worked with our internal IT department
to create a financial database system. This system made it possible for
our brokers, in-house staff, and external clients to work together seamlessly.
By giving us fast and easy access to immediate financial data and client
information from the desktop or a web-based interface, we were able to
put the customer first. said David Taylor, CEO, Pacific & Western
Trust. Arius' staff listened carefully to our specific needs and
delivered an affordable solution on schedule. They were professional,
a pleasure to work with, and I'd recommend them to any company looking
for data-centric web solutions.
Arius Software was founded in early 1999 by Adam Zimmer
(Computer Engineering) and Mike Neame (Computer Science) during their
coop work terms at the University of Waterloo, world-renowned for its
computer science and engineering programs. Their successful business venture
has captured the attention of the technology and investment community
who are backing the business to enable future growth. The founders have
extensive experience in software development and design of web application
systems. During their consulting engagements, they recognized a need to
automate the web-application development process and designed a toolkit
called ConnectedDB to address this need. ConnectedDB enables developers
to rapidly generate graphical user interfaces for a variety of platforms
and connect those interfaces to either current existing or legacy databases.
It can generate an interface for the web, a full desktop application,
or even a cellphone, without writing a single new line of code.
Arius Software Corporation provides enterprise-class
software solutions that fuel e-Business and enables companies to access
information anytime, anyplace. Arius Software specializes in web application
design and development, web-enabling existing systems in an organization
