Arius Software Strengthens Executive Team
WATERLOO, ONTARIO, November 1, 2001 - Arius Software Corporation has added significant strength to their executive team with the appointment of Gary Baksi as Vice President of Client Solutions. Arius Software's enterprise-class solutions deliver one holistic web-based view of formerly disconnected customer data to enable better strategic decisions.
Gary Baksi will serve as Vice President of Client Solutions. He will be responsible for developing and executing Arius's go-to-market strategy. Mr. Baksi expressed his excitement at this new challenge with the following comments: "Our solutions will allow our clients to determine in advance which of their customers will be the most valuable. We can deliver one holistic web- based view of all customer data structured in a way that enables scalability, security, and even ad hoc requirements. Our approach is to integrate or unite data - versus bridging applications. This can be done for a fraction of the cost. Next, we distribute control of this data to those closest to customers, to those who have the awareness and motivation needed to leverage data into knowledge around customer value. We plan to channel our spirit, energy, and unmatched architecture to address the visionary needs of a select group of clients in the coming year. Gary Baksi has demonstrated vision, yet proven his affinity for realistic goals and strategies, in the two successful start-ups he co-founded and managed since 1983. The first was a cutting edge software firm partnered with the University of Waterloo, and the second was a control's technology manufacturer with exports to over 30 countries spanning 5 continents. The results are benchmarked in the June 1995 issue of Profit Magazine's list of Canada's 100 fastest growing companies. Comptrol Computer Control Inc. placed 36th for sales growth and within that group, placed 19th in profitability.
Adam Zimmer and Mike Neame founded Arius in 1999. Arius Software Corporation's Professional Services Group offers customer software solutions for clients based upon an accelerated delivery model by applying their own ConnectedDB technology. Arius also sells ConnectedDB corporate licenses to independent software vendors as well as to larger firm developing in-house applications.
